21 And Israel sent messengers unto Sihon king of the Amorites, saying,
22 Let me pass through thy land: we will not turn into the fields, or into the vineyards; we will not drink of the waters of the well: but we will go along by the king's high way, until we be past thy borders.

21 Later, Israel sent messengers to Sihon, king of the Amorites, who conveyed this request: 22 “Permit us to pass through your land. We won’t trespass in your fields or vineyards. We won’t drink water from any well, and we’ll only travel along the King’s Highway until we’ve passed through your territory.”

21 Messengers were often sent in these days before they would arrive. We are the messengers for Jesus before He comes back.
22 He is asking to pass thru this land, they are asking so that there isn’t conflict and that they can pass in peace. Them passing wouldn’t cause anything for the Amorites, wouldn’t do anything for them but make an ally in Israel. We need to be allies as Christians because we serve the same Lord.
