Acts 9:26-30 King James Version (KJV)
26 And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.
27 But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.
28 And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem.
29 And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.
30 Which when the brethren knew, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.

Acts 9:26-30 New King James Version (NKJV)
Saul at Jerusalem

26 And when Saul had come to Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples; but they were all afraid of him, and did not believe that he was a disciple. 27 But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. And he declared to them how he had seen the Lord on the road, and that He had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus. 28 So he was with them at Jerusalem, coming in and going out. 29 And he spoke boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus and disputed against the Hellenists, but they attempted to kill him. 30 When the brethren found out, they brought him down to Caesarea and sent him out to Tarsus.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

26 They were scared because of who Paul used to be, he was the man who was trying to kill those of the faith and remove them.

27 Whether Barnabas was there with Paul on the road to Damascus was unlikely but he spoke of what he heard of from Paul to show and convince to them he wasn’t the same man now. God often times brings us a Barnabas in our Christian walk.

28 So because of Barnabas they let Paul into the church, he coming and going does not mean he leaves but that he goes out telling them about Jesus.

29 Paul was familiar with many Jewish groups, he now addresses the group of Jews that favored Rome in an idolatress way. They wanted to kill him. This is how they react and ways the world still reacts today they want to kill those in the light because they love the darkness.

30 So he was sent back home. Sometimes we have to get out of the hot water. God had more for Paul, it wasn’t time for him to killed by the Jews yet.
