HEAVEN’S UNIFIED OBJECTIVE

(1) A Song of degrees of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
(2) It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron's beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments;
(3) As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore. Psalms 133:1-3

Genuine unity of the Spirit is the uniting of souls; it’s not a mechanism of the mere minds of men. It’s not found in theology, religious dogma, and political, commercial, or organizational unity. True binding unity is birthed in the rebirth of the soul, the renewing of the mind; which develops supreme affection as the supreme aim under the supreme rule of the agape of God.

If Christians try to find it in ecclesiastical bylaws or denominational association it will sometimes evade them and division is often the result. The purest unity which bonds and binds hearts together is found in the unity of the Spirit. When one’s conscious is truly guided by the Spirit there will develop a love that gives license to liberty without condemnation. The spiritual growth that comes out of a bona fide agape love doesn’t need to agree on every fine point concerning the facts of doctrine; but willingness for patience that allows timely spiritual growth. Yes there are certain principle things which are essential to salvation; but there are many areas that some dictate for the salvation of others while they themselves are flawed concerning the faith. We’re not facilitating heresy in any form or fashion here, but we are presenting a case for a unity that grows out of a heartfelt love to see everyone reach their potential and the truth that sustains their faith.

Let us remember we are all growing at different rates of development according to our degree of interest in faith of the gospel by which we are saved, consecrated, and called to. Not all are called to the same degree of expertise or the same degree of intensity concerning the proclamation gifts. Unity does not negate truth but gives those that don’t know truth the opportunity to find it in a receptive atmosphere. When love is saturating the atmosphere, when acceptance of a person is a priority, when patience is the practice; unity can exist while there is still disagreement. Love truly does pave a path to unity because it intentionally looks past every fault, deficiency, and any ignorant or lack of understanding to build a spiritually profitable relationship.

Why is unity so important today in the body of Christ? Unity calls people of faith together to accomplish the will of God in the earth. Unity exposes what is heretical and what is orthodox. Unity ascends ethnicity, culture, and diversity.

(1) I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
(2) With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
(3) Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
(4) There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
(5) One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
(6) One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. Ephesians 4:1-6

I don’t see color, culture, or an abstract creed in this biblical passage; I do see a declaration of unity in the oneness of our calling. Our response to the call; we have received is to act accordingly to holy and heavenly content of its character. We are to live in a humbleness that reflects meekness with enduring patience for the purpose of upholding one another in the agape of God.

Brethren, There is no denomination which is the single authority of God upon the earth; for Christ is the Head of the Church and every ecclesiastical order or denomination is supposed to be subject to Him. Therefore we must conform to the image of Christ and in doing so we can find unity in the worship of God and common fellowship in our allegiance to his Word. Unity does not capitulate to outright heresy and exposes it for what it is so that fellowship is based upon the purity of contextual doctrinal advancement. True unity is guided by the Holy Spirit through guiding us into all truth. The Apostle Paul was moved to rebuke the Church of Galatia because of acceptance of heretical doctrine.

(6) I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
(7) Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
(8) But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
(9) As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.
(10) For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. Galatians 1:6-10

Brethren when we strive to have the purity of the word; the word will bring purity to our lives. Purity eradicates the dross of prejudice, and points us toward being matured in the knowledge of scripture for the sake of truth and the salvation of those who are growing in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. When we come to the plateau of peace and dwell in the temple of truth; then we find resolution in ourselves through the anointing which cleanses us from all unrighteousness. Brethren a cleansed vessel is prepared for being filled with purity to be poured out in the manifestation of love, peace, joy, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, and temperance. All these attributes of the selfsame Spirit render us full of love and forgiveness. We can pray with authority; forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. When a willingness to forgive completely is harbored in our hearts and distributed; when necessary unity can thrive and bring the precious ointment that flows down from the Christ our Head; like the dew that gathers in high places and dribbles it way into the pure mountain stream which flows down and becomes the source of life. O how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity. Selah

Shalom, Agape, & Amen!
D.R. Ritchie (Emissary)
