Ezra 7:11-13 King James Version (KJV)
11 Now this is the copy of the letter that the king Artaxerxes gave unto Ezra the priest, the scribe, even a scribe of the words of the commandments of the LORD, and of his statutes to Israel.
12 Artaxerxes, king of kings, unto Ezra the priest, a scribe of the law of the God of heaven, perfect peace, and at such a time.
13 I make a decree, that all they of the people of Israel, and of his priests and Levites, in my realm, which are minded of their own freewill to go up to Jerusalem, go with thee.

The Letter of Artaxerxes to Ezra
11 This is a copy of the letter that King Artaxerxes gave Ezra the priest, the scribe, expert in the words of the commandments of the LORD, and of His statutes to Israel:
12 Artaxerxes, king of kings,
To Ezra the priest, a scribe of the Law of the God of heaven:
Perfect peace, and so forth.
13 I issue a decree that all those of the people of Israel and the priests and Levites in my realm, who volunteer to go up to Jerusalem, may go with you.

11 Ezra was very studied in the law but it took him taking time reading and studying the word for us to be experts we have to study the bible. It don’t just come without us doing our part. So he himself gets to carry this degree from the king, we as Christians are called to carry the gospel to the world a much greater honor.
12 Ezra was both a priest and studied in the word. To best serve God in the area we are called we should keep in His word. The pagan king recognizes God, this does not mean he turned to Him but does show that Ezra had a very positive influence from him doing what he was suppose to for the Lord.
13 So the Jews were now going back home, we as Christians one day will have our King come and get to go to the heavenly home.
