17 Now while Peter doubted in himself what this vision which he had seen should mean, behold, the men which were sent from Cornelius had made enquiry for Simon's house, and stood before the gate,
18 And called, and asked whether Simon, which was surnamed Peter, were lodged there.

17 Now while Peter wondered within himself what this vision which he had seen meant, behold, the men who had been sent from Cornelius had made inquiry for Simon’s house, and stood before the gate. 18 And they called and asked whether Simon, whose surname was Peter, was lodging there.

17 Peter didn’t jump to conclusions about what the vision meant but thought about it, if we don’t take time to think on things then often times we will come to the wrong idea.
18 So they had been looking thru Peter’s house and asking about him. People may be the ones God uses to open the doors He was preparing us for. Sometimes what happens next makes what we didn’t understand more clear.
