Acts 3:11-16 King James Version (KJV)

11 And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering.
12 And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?
13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.
14 But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;
15 And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.
16 And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

Acts 3:11-16 New King James Version (NKJV)
Preaching in Solomon’s Portico

11 Now as the lame man who was healed held on to Peter and John, all the people ran together to them in the porch which is called Solomon’s, greatly amazed. 12 So when Peter saw it, he responded to the people: “Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk? 13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go. 14 But you denied the Holy One and the Just, and asked for a murderer to be granted to you, 15 and killed the Prince of life, whom God raised from the dead, of which we are witnesses. 16 And His name, through faith in His name, has made this man strong, whom you see and know. Yes, the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

11 It was common at that time to praise the one who healed rather then to praise the Lord for sending them. This lame man may have been willing to follow Peter and John because of them healing him, many followed Jesus after they were healed. Solomon’s porch is a part of the temple.

12 Peter knew he had no power it was by the power of the Holy Spirit and the name of Jesus that he was able to heal this man. Those are of God will not take credit for the works they do because they know it is the Lord working thru them.’

13 Peter gives another sermon, reminding them about Jesus and the promises of God given to them. Peter does not act rash that they killed his Lord because he understands it was a part of God’s plan.

14 They denied Christ this is what Peter was concerned about. Until we die we have chances to fix the problem of denying Christ, we can accept Him as our Lord. Peter was giving them a chance to serve the Lord.

15 There were many to see Christ after He returned. Jesus remained 40 days before going to the Father, so many would have seen Him during that time.

16 Power comes from the name of Jesus; it is not by what we can do without Him but what He can do with us and thru us. His name is the only name that saves.
