Acts 5:33-36 King James Version (KJV)
33 When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them.
34 Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space;
35 And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men.
36 For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought.

Gamaliel’s Advice
33 When they heard this, they were furious and plotted to kill them. 34 Then one in the council stood up, a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the law held in respect by all the people, and commanded them to put the apostles outside for a little while. 35 And he said to them: “Men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what you intend to do regarding these men. 36 For some time ago Theudas rose up, claiming to be somebody. A number of men, about four hundred, joined him. He was slain, and all who obeyed him were scattered and came to nothing.

33 Hate is often times a reaction the love and word of the Lord the name of Jesus will stir up more hate than any other name or word ever. They wanted to stop the spread of the name of Jesus at any cost.
34 They sent them outside so they could meet discuss what they were going to do about them.
35 He knew that they should not do what is wrong to remove them men, this man stood by what the law said and knew that there was a group that would break the law if they needed to for them to remove the name of Jesus and stop its spread but he wanted to reason with them.
36 Their had been many that claimed to be somebody but they would fade away with their death, some religions have served their founders death but many end when they die and that is what happened with this man, religions often times do not last if there is a resistance after their founders death.
