Acts 5:40-42 King James Version (KJV)
40 And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.
Acts 5:40-42 New King James Version (NKJV)
40 And they agreed with him, and when they had called for the apostles and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. 41 So they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name. 42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.

40 The people agreed with the man, this is because he spoke sense, it was worldly sense though. They beat them, if it was of God as the man said should they have beaten them, no, this shows regardless they stood against God. People may tell us not mention Jesus, but we answer to God first not man, we are to listen to God in spite of what men may do to us.
41 They praised God because Christ was beaten and they knew it was their honor to share this with Him. We may be beaten for our faith, we should give God praise that we still are alive to share Him with others, sometimes the worse thing is to get no reaction, hate shows they were doing what they should. The only good thing the men did was let the apostles go.
42 They kept on doing what Jesus wanted them to do and not what the men wanted them to do. There is nothing better we can do than spread the name of Jesus.
