It’s in the News; but it was in the Bible first!

Headlines are filled with the sexual immorality of those in high and low places in our society. Why? It is a sign of the last days.

We are seeing the repercussions of a sex centered society manifest before our eyes. The world has pushed the sexual revolution on society and now we are seeing its results. Sexuality has become the consciousness of our day; marriage has been relegated to an act of sexual preference instead of the backbone of society. Adultery has been glorified on the silver screen; and alternative sexual preferences of every kind are acceptable today; it only stands to reason the next big sexual revolution with be the normalizing of pedophilia. Today those who want to live by God’s design and in accordance with his natural laws are mocked and ridiculed as antiquated ignorant outdated humans who need to get up to speed with the 21st century mindset.

Yet now the hypocritical uproar over sexual impropriety amazes me! Why? Because when society accepts the most devious of sexual perversions as normal and then decries other acts of perversion; it is ludicrous to say the least. The bible teaches us “when you sow to the wind; you’re going to reap a whirlwind”. We are now witnessing to whirlwind of Woodstock which opened the doors to lewdness and the sexual free love revolution has found its stronghold and will bring down any society that accepts it. When even fornication, adultery, pornography, and homosexually are accepted in many so-called houses of worship; you know the nation is in trouble and the whirlwind of judgment is soon to blow through with devastating effects. When lust is exalted everywhere it will draw its worshippers and those worshippers will act out their fantasies; and many times the innocent and the defenseless will be the prey of these predators. Yes Brethren; we’ve allowed our society to sow to flesh and now we are reaping its corruption!

(1) But of this be assured: in the last days grievous times will set in.
(2) For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, profane. They will be disobedient to parents, thankless, irreligious,
(3) destitute of natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers. They will have no self-control, but will be brutal, opposed to goodness,
(4) treacherous, headstrong, self-important. They will love pleasure instead of loving God,
(5) and will keep up a make-believe of piety and yet live in defiance of its power. Turn away from people of this sort.
(6) Among them are included the men who make their way into private houses and carry off weak women as their prisoners--women who, weighed down by the burden of their sins, are led by ever-changing caprice,
(7) and are always learning something new, and yet are never able to arrive at real knowledge of the truth. 2 Timothy 3:1-7

Brethren it this doesn’t describe the days in which we live; nothing does! When we started accepting the slightest hint of ungodly actions by others especially concerning perverse sexuality we are doomed to wade in a little deeper into the waters of debauchery. Why? A little leaven leavens the whole lump! When we started being amused and entertained by those things that outright mock God’s holy standards; we begin to become a part of the problem not the solution. One day we shall all give an account of what we’ve done in this life. No one will escape the examination of God whether sinner or saint. In 2nd Corinthians the subjects of the conversation was to Christians not sinners.

(7) (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
(8) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
(9) Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
(10) For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. 2 Corinthians 5:7-10

Brethren it behooves us to commit our ways to God and to come out from among those who defy God by their very lifestyle and live a life of godliness before them so that when we minister the grace of God to them it will be effective in provoking their thoughts toward things eternal. The present darkness can never overshadow our responsibility to witness the love of Christ through the preaching of the vicarious suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ for the sins of the world. We must therefore be distinctively different in our values and virtues before and crooked and perverse generation. Selah

Shalom, Agape, & Amen!
D.R. Ritchie (Christian)
