HOW TO BE:

And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise. Luke 6:31

We all wish that people would deal with us honestly, generously, and faithfully in all matters of life. The Lord instructs us as Christians followers to take the initiative. If we expect it of others we must measure up to our own standard by our conduct. As Christians we are to set the tone for the good of humanity.

We practice our Christian ethic in every area of life, at home, socially, in business, in politics, and in church. Jesus commanded it not requested it, because it is a duty is not unjust but to the contrary right and reasonable. Christianity is the catalyst of all that is righteous in the world, we are seek the kingdom of God and his righteousness the bible teaches us this simple but powerful dynamic. One: to love the Lord with all our heart, body, mind, and strength, and to love our neighbor as ourselves. Thereby establishing the catalyst of common good for all humanity.

Brethren, we that love Jesus should reflect his love for others, and how we do that is by having the godly mentality of what we would have others do concerning ourselves is to do that very thing concerning others. The Holy Spirit summed it up nicely for us in Romans chapter 12

(9) Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
(10) Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
(11) Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;
(12) Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
(13) Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality.
(14) Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
(15) Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
(16) Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
(17) Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
(18) If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Romans 12:9-18 KJV

Christian ethic is higher than human ethic, it can only be achieved successfully through allowing the Spirit to express himself through us. Thereby making it possible to love not only in word, but also in deed. The world right now is erupting with hatred on all sides, it is spewing out its vindictive poison at every opportune time, declaring the evil is good, and good is evil. But the love of Christ in us will overcome every obstacle that manifests itself against us if we will give it free course.

Brethren let us keep the faith today by striving to do unto others as we would have them do unto us, let us pray for God to open the eyes of our hearts that we may see his glorious plan, as come into his presence pressing into his gates through praise, let us stand in his sanctuary looking to the throne of grace, let ask for understanding and store it in our hearts amazed, and walk into the world to share the love we’ve grazed. Selah!

Shalom, Agape, & Amen!
D.R. Ritchie (Servant)
