Acts 8:4-8 King James Version (KJV)
4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.
5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.
6 And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.
7 For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.
8 And there was great joy in that city.
Acts 8:4-8 New King James Version (NKJV)
Christ Is Preached in Samaria
4 Therefore those who were scattered went everywhere preaching the word. 5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. 6 And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. 7 For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed.8 And there was great joy in that city.

4 They went out preaching the word this was part of God’s plan for them to spread the word everywhere now it was more the twelve spreading the gospel everyone was as they went. We have to ask ourselves do we carry Christ with us everywhere we go or do we try to go to places and leave Him behind.
5 Philip was one of the first deacons this causing him to no longer serve tables as he did but to share the word with people. Samaria this was a place where Jesus had been the place of the woman at the well, they were people that were descended from intermarriage of Jews and Gentiles and were seen as unworthy of God because of this by the Jewish people. Philip brings the gospel to them sharing the love of God with those that may have felt that they were unloved.
6 Philip was now able to do miracles so this people would know that his message was that of God. The miracles showed God was with him today we have the word to determine whether people are of the Lord or not.
7 We see how he does some of the same things that Christ did but in an area where Christ had not done it. Demons have no power when Jesus comes into the picture.
8 Jesus brought them joy, they were hearing a news that taught they were loved, this is something new for a Jew to tell them, most Jews hated them because of them being a half breed. Just simply living out the love of Christ can bring people joy.
