Acts 9:5-9 King James Version (KJV)
5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
7 And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.
8 And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.
9 And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.

Acts 9:5-9 New King James Version (NKJV)

5 And he said, “Who are You, Lord?”
Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.”
6 So he, trembling and astonished, said, “Lord, what do You want me to do?”
Then the Lord said to him, “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”
7 And the men who journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice but seeing no one. 8 Then Saul arose from the ground, and when his eyes were opened he saw no one. But they led him by the hand and brought him into Damascus. 9 And he was three days without sight, and neither ate nor drank.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

5 Saul knew this was the Lord speaking to him was devote in his religion but didn’t personally know the Lord at this time, religion is not a relationship. So at this point Saul come to the knowledge that Jesus is Lord he has the chose to accept the same faith that he is killing men for or reject what now he personally knows is truth.

6 Saul asking this shows that he is willing to follow Jesus now and he was a man who had a passion for what he followed we see that with his walk with Jesus. So Saul has to continue to go to Damascus but now for very different reasons.

7 The people did not understand or accept that he was talking to the Lord even though he could clearly hear him speaking.

8 So he had to trust others to get him there often times in faith we have to trust others to help us but important we have to rely on the Lord and do what He has for us to get where He wants us.

9 Saul most likely just did not eat due to his blindness most likely this was not a spiritually fast although God would use Saul because he went to where he was told to go Saul at this point could still go thru with his plan but he waits three days for what the Lord wants him to do further sometimes God don’t tell us what is next right away.
