44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. 45 And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also.

44 The Spirit fell on the people which shows that they were being moved by the words that the Spirit was speaking thru Peter and then the Spirit moves the people because of the words.
45 They now received the Holy Spirit something we all as believers are blessed to have today. Having the faith goes hand and hand with us having a depending on the Spirit that we have inside us, they now could do this and this is why Peter was sent there by the Lord.
