Acts 5:12-16 King James Version (KJV)

12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch.
13 And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them.
14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)
15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.
16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

Acts 5:12-16 New King James Version (NKJV)
Continuing Power in the Church
12 And through the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were done among the people. And they were all with one accord in Solomon’s Porch. 13 Yet none of the rest dared join them, but the people esteemed them highly. 14 And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, 15 so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them. 16 Also a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

12 The Apostles could do this because they had the power of the Holy Spirit today God still works miracles but we also have the word to tell if people are in the Spirit they only could tell by these miracles then. Solomon’s porch was apart of the temple.

13 They were respected but people did not join them, many people followed Jesus while He did miracles but after He stopped they no longer followed Him, this is their reaction to the disciples, they just have respect for them but not come to faith. There are many reasons people do not come to faith but all of them amount to sin.

14 The churches numbers did keep growing this was because they were fully trusting in the Lord and gave Him their all often times today we do not want to do that.

15-16 The Spirit was on them so much that shadows of Godly men healed them. Jesus is the great healer and by Him we can also heal thru prayer, if it be His will. Many people also brought people to Jesus to be healed, not all them would stay to follow Him but these people would join the church.
